In-Home Pet Euthanasia
Services and Pricing
Unfortunately, sometimes emergency or unexpected euthanasia in a clinic setting is unavoidable. For the times we are able to plan for end-of-life care, Rivera Veterinary Services is here for you.
While saying goodbye to our best furry friends is never easy, Dr. Rivera strives to offer compassionate care for pets and their people in the comfort and privacy of their own home.
Current Pricing
All packages include transport up to 15 miles from my home office in 78218.
Over 15 miles will incur a trip fee to any service as follows:
16-25 miles = $30
26-35 miles = $50
36-45 miles = $75
46-60 miles = $125
Euthanasia & Private Cremation - $675
Private cremation means that your pet is cremated alone such that their ashes are not mixed with anyone else's pet and can be returned to you.
Any of the included memorial items can be opted out of, however this does not change pricing.
Private cremation package Includes the following:
-Up to 90 minutes of appointment time, travel up to 15 miles from my home office, euthanasia procedure, transport to the crematorium and delivery of cremains back to you.
-ONE of the below decorative urns
-Cremation certificate
-Name plate (flat brass for box-type urns, heart shaped tag for Paw Print)
-ONE clay paw print mounted in a shadow box
-ONE Ink nose print on white 5" X 7" cardstock
-ONE Ink paw print on white 5" X 7" cardstock
-Hair clipping in decorative box

Euthanasia & Group Cremation - $470
Group cremation means that your pet is cremated along with other pets whose family selected the group cremation option.
Any of the included memorial items can be opted out of, however this does not change pricing.
**You will NOT receive ashes back or cremation certificate with this option**
Group cremation package includes the following:
-Up to 90 minutes of appointment time, travel up to 15 miles from my home office, euthanasia procedure, transport to the crematorium and delivery of memorial keepsakes back to you.
-ONE clay paw print
(Please note that the clay paw print for the Group package is NOT mounted in a shadow box, however a mounted clay paw and/or ink print can be ordered separately)
-ONE Ink nose print on white 5" X 7" cardstock
-ONE Ink paw print on white 5" X 7" cardstock
-Hair clipping in decorative box

Other Services
Euthanasia services ONLY - $420
(This option would be for if you plan to perform home burial or wish to transport your pet to a crematorium of your choosing.
Please note for home burial, you are responsible for locating and digging a plot for your pet.)

-ONE Ink nose print on white 5" X 7" cardstock
-ONE Ink paw print on white 5" X 7" cardstock

Any of the included memorial items can be opted out of, however this does not change pricing.
Creation of the memorial items will be performed on-site at the time of euthanasia service.
Please note that for Euthanasia Service only, no memorial items can be ordered mounted/framed, as the crematorium performs this service. Since your pet will not be going to the crematorium, we cannot mount any keepsake items.
*For at-home burial, there are inherent risks to the environment or wildlife from improperly dug burial sites. The euthanasia drug can seriously harm or even kill wildlife if tissues from your pet are ingested. A EuthaBag will be provided for burial to mitigate leeching or the drugs used into the soil.
Please check your local jurisdiction's laws or recommendations for burial procedures of chemically euthanized animals.
After-care ONLY
(This would be for if your pet has passed away at home on their own or prior to my arrival for euthanasia, but you desire cremation and the transport to and/or from the crematorium.)
$385 for Private cremation
$325 for Group cremation
This service includes the following:
-Up to 90 minutes of appointment time and travel up to 15 miles from my home office for pick up and transportation to the crematorium.
-ONE clay paw print
-ONE Ink nose print on white 5" X 7" cardstock
-ONE Ink paw print on white 5" X 7" cardstock
-Hair clipping in decorative box
-Delivery of the cremains (if selecting private cremation) and memorial keepsakes back to you.
If selecting the group cremation option, memorial keepsakes may be created on-site at the time of euthanasia service.
Multiple Pet Service
In the heartbreaking event of needing service for multiple pets in a single appointment, Rivera Veterinary Services offers a discount for each additional pet, and an additional 30 minutes per pet.
You will still receive all of the included memorial keepsakes for each additional pet.
You will only pay any applicable trip fees ONCE.
First pet price will be the highest level of regularly priced package desired, as stated above. Each additional pet will be as follows:
Private package - $450
Group package - $250
Euthanasia service only - $175
As an example, if you want a Private Package for one pet but the Group Package for another, your charges would be $675 for the Private Package for the first pet, then $250 for the Group Package for the second
Behavioral Euthanasias/Aggressive animals
Sometimes, despite training or attempted rehabilitation of aggressive animals, they remain a danger to you, your family, visitors, neighbors, or other animals.
Considering euthanasia for these animals is unfortunate but may be necessary for safety reasons. Rivera Veterinary Services is willing to provide this service.
However, everyone involved, including Dr. Rivera, needs to remain safe.
If you have an active relationship with a veterinary clinic, she may need to get into contact with them for a pre-visit pharmaceutical plan. There is no charge for this vet-to-vet consultation.
If you are NOT established with a veterinarian and you cannot safely or appropriately control the animal in question, Dr. Rivera will need to conduct a behavior consultation at least 2 days prior to the euthanasia service so that pre-visit drugs can legally be prescribed to make the experience as safe and stress-free as possible for all.
$100 for 30 minute in-person consultation
Travel fees will apply per the regular trip fee schedule at the top of this page.
Shipping
Shipping with tracking is available for your cremains package, should you need it. This method is not preferred, but we understand if it's required for your individual circumstances.
Rivera Veterinary Services, LLC. cannot be held financially responsible or liable for lost, stolen, mis-delivered, or damaged items.
Within the Continental US - $40
Outside of the Continental US - $80
Retired Military or Police Working Dogs
Providing veterinary care for our nation's 4-legged Heroes has been one of the greatest privileges of Dr. Rivera's career.
It is her solemn honor to offer the Private Service package for just $150
No additional discounts will apply
Service will include a memorial flag and display case.
Dr. Rivera is happy to work with any Working Dog support organization or agency that may cover the cost of euthanasia services, if needed.
Military Families
Active duty members and retirees will receive a $50 discount on any regularly priced service*.
*Will not apply to the Military or Police Working dog Service.
